The Arran Sweater

The Arran Sweater Knitting Pattern

This knitting pattern combines moss stitch, cables and patterns from traditional fishermen’s sweaters, known as ganseys, to represent the sea, the mountains and the “many stags” of Arran.

Our sweater was knitted in wool produced at the New Lanark World Heritage Site which you can order on-line from New Lanark.

“I really love my completed sweater, which is in the New Lanark Aran, Limestone – a beautiful marled grey colour. Going to knit another couple in different colours… … KW “

“Loved to have the explanation of the patterns and stitches as this makes the whole thing more meaningful. VG”

THE “PURCHASE” BUTTON TAKES YOU TO THE ARRAN KNITTING COMPANY ‘ETSY’ SITE WHERE YOU CAN CHOOSE TO USE CREDIT CARD OR PAYPAL TO PAY FOR YOUR PATTERN.
